The LifeShield Surgical Blade (No 12) is a small, crescent-shaped instrument with a sharp inside edge along the curve. It finds application in various surgical procedures, including suture cutting, arteriotomies (arterial incisions), parotid surgeries (salivary gland procedures), septoplasty (nasal septum repair), cleft palate procedures, ureterolithotomies (ureteral calculus removal), and pyelolithotomy (renal pelvis incision for kidney stone removal). In dental surgery, the No.12 blade is useful for raising skin flaps and removing excess polymerized composite resin during tooth restoration.
